A Message From Heather

Welcome to Before & After Counseling. I am a local, community counselor specializing in individual counseling for the adolescent to adult populations. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Lock Haven University and a Clinical/Community Psychology Master’s Degree from Mansfield University.
I have been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2006.

I have over eight years of both psychiatric inpatient hospitalization and psychotherapy outpatient counseling experience. I have over eleven years of experience working in higher education as a campus counselor and disability services specialist. 

I am interested in working with people who want to change or who desire support in the struggles they are encountering. I offer a supportive, caring, comfortable, and safe environment where a therapeutic relationship is the first step in the client’s journey to their ultimate goal.

I see myself as a guide, where I will be there to support, point out things along the way, help to navigate tough terrain, interpret some of the new things that are encountered and help the client to understand their path.
